Three Weeks

It's been three weeks since the vet said "probably two to three weeks" but Zoe is looking like her normal self.

Seems doctors in every arena (except for my mother's who had the bedside manner of an ORC) are like that. Maybe they're trying to help their patients (or their patient's people) have more time to emotionally prepare. When my beloved cat began to decline, I didn't take her to the vet (I couldn't afford very many visits), but I knew the time was short. I later regretted not letting her go sooner than I did, but I just couldn't bear it. I read somewhere once that statistically, people pass away on Mondays more than any other day of the week (I know I'm not writing very well here, sorry about poor syntax at 2 o'clock in the morning). Anyway ... it's a nice thing that animals, dear and sentient as they are, live so much in the moment that they don't know about Mondays ... or veterinarian predictions.

What kind of dog is Zoe? -- besides a "good dog" :)

Zoe is probably black Lab or flat-coated retriever with a bit of Chow.

I'm okay with the vet telling how much time she estimates, although I'd be a lot happier if it turned out to be "two to three years" rather than "weeks".
