The Avengers
Had a good time with this film. Not as good as Iron Man 1, but as good as Captain America or better, and definitely better than Thor. Loki was, as in Thor, a very creditable villain, clever, manipulative, and arrogant. Several good lines, although none were up to the (admittedly high) bar of Princess Bride; the most enjoyable was perhaps Hulk's reply to Loki.

I thought Captain America did well at representing the original comic story (I remember that!).
I've enjoyed both Iron Man iterations, but admit that the villain from the second one was weaker.
Thor was okay but a bit unremarkable except I liked Sif and Heimdal a fair bit. Loki was, as you say, credible enough. I thought his birthright was interesting as it feeds the nature versus nurture train of thinking.
The Hulk's rejoinder to Loki was entertaining. And Whedon has a good sense of dialog (interesting thought: What if Whedon had done the first 3 star wars prequels from a Lucas outline?).
Quite a fun film.
