Now listening to...

...the gentle sound of rain.
Falling from the kitchen ceiling light.

Seems the overflow pipe on the new bathtub upstairs wasn't sealed properly. Fortunately it's an easy problem to avoid--just don't over fill the tub. Plumber will be here Saturday.

When I was visiting the Makowsky's in Columbus, I'm taking a shower and I'm ready to turn the shower off, but forget which way to turn it. I turn the handle (some direction)...and it comes off in my hand!

Of course, you think: Well, that's annoying and problematic in that it seems to be impossible to shut the water off. That would be correct. But it also decided that, without the knob, it should leak down inside the wall (at full tilt).

Shortly the kitchen flourescent is awash. Ceiling drywall is wet. And Bob is having trouble finding the hot water shutoff. We take a look in the bathroom, me wrapped in a towel and soaking wet, and try to close it off using pliers. I forget if it was the cutoff or the pliers that eventually reined it in.

By then, a lot of water had went into the houses interstices.

I felt awful. And yet, I didn't do anything abnormal and certainly don't have the strength of the Hulk...

They do say.... into each life... a little rain must fall.... you just don't expect it from the kitchen fixtures!
